Why do some websites offer free screensavers?
When we download a screensaver it runs always in the background. Is it a Spy? They often eat your system resources. Has any one studied what exactly are the implications of these screensavers or smilies? How do they gain out of it?

- It's stupid to use screen saver. Use energy saving feature of your display card and monitor.
- With the advancement of technologies for monitors, Screen shavers has no use at all. Use power saving options to shut down your monitor in case of idle time. This will save power for you and for the country.
- every time the screen svaer gets downloaded the company makes money, often the viruses could contain virues use power saving options in display properties instead
- Did you ever hear the saying "Nothing is Free". There is always a price you will pay. This is the rule for safe Internet use: Never click on a site that offers something Free. You will always be downloaded with some form of spyware/adware or maybe a Virus/trojan. The purpose of these programs is to get your information off your computer. Then they sell it to Spammers and others. I strongly suggest you go to the site below and run the full scan. If any infection(s) are found it will remove them.
- .......The company gets money n its reputation increases each time when the website is viewed n the screensaver is downloaded. So thats why some websites offer free screensavers........
