2. Note that it's NOT wise to use screen savers. If you have a modern CRT monitor, i doesn't NEED a screen saver. The phosphors used in it are of such quality, that 'burn in' isn't possible. For LCD monitors, using a screen saver has never been useful. Executing screen savers requires energy, which is totally wasted; see my previous point. It may only add to the energy consumption of your computer a little bit, but still. With millions of screen savers running uselessly, it ads up. Again from the perspective of energy consumption, it's much wiser to use the power saving features than the screen saver. Better still: switch off your computer when you know you're not going to use it for 30 minutes or more. And let's face it: how long are you going to be entertained by some useless output on your screen? Get a book and read, instead. (Or work! That's what your computer is there for.)
