screensavers and desktop themes-----where and how to do??/???

i want to dress up my computers desktop, but.....all the sites i find have adware (of which i really dont want to bother w/)....or when i try to download them, it dosent seem to work, because they are "not varified"--so, does anyone know where i can get legitamate, working themes and s.savers, that are easy to dowload.......and are of good quality???it would be nice if they were free...and im only willing to pay a very small fee, if necessary, to get something i like and that i can make work my self...Thanks!
