why does my cpu fan make more noise while a 3d animated screensaver is running on desktop?

whenever the screen is idle, a 3d animated waterfall screensaver comes up. i have put it myself. it works, but while it is running, my cpu fan noise goes up.

1. Graphics whether animated or 3D require a lot of processing which means tehy run hotter trying to run your display of the graphics. Best cure for this is to buy a top end video card such as nvidia which has more MBs and its own fan on card
2. A lot of the 3d screen savers take a lot of processing power. If you Motherboard has the option of smart fan then what is happening is normal. What is going on is that when you are working the cpu isn't at full power but but when the 3d graphic kick in the cpu needs it half to full power and of course the heat goes up. When the heat reaches a fixed temperature (which is set in the BIOS) then the fan kicks up the speed to blow the hot air away from the cpu. Have fun
