delete screen savers from XP?

screensavers that come with XP can not be deleted like win 98 or ME. Once they are deleted they return in just a short time. I was told that XP has something built into the system that looks for certain files & returns them if they are missing. I need the space & want to get rid of these screensavers. I was also told that it can be done but I can't find out how. Any help?

  1. yes you can delete them start search for files and folders type *.scr then search to find a list of screensavers delete the ones you don't like
  2. yes xp has a feature like that. right click on the My Computer select Properties you should see a tab called "System Restore" check "Turn off System Restore". then delete what ever you like. but use this at your own risk.
  3. All Screen Savers are located in the directory C:\WINDOWS\system32 (in case ur OS location is C:\ ) It also has the (.scr) extension.! enjoy it ;)
