is there a way to get your screensavers to work on a home pc?

running windows xp. When i right click on desktop and left click properties and right click screensavers and set it up no matter what i do screensavers dont come on even after clicking apply then ok. tried all your suggestions but ive still unable to get screensavers working thanx for the attempts though.

  1. You right click desktop, left click Properties, LEFT click Screensavers and select one from the list, then click Apply->OK.

I found a website that states 2 different solutions that stood out. a) "Check your powersaving settings, so your monitor is not set to turn it self off before the screensaver kicks in" (Disable Power Settings) b) "This is interesting. For some reason, I got the screensaver to work. Try first to deactivate your screensaver. Close down screensaver settings. Then reopen and select a screensaver and mark the activate checkbox, and close...." You can read the website to see if anything else solves it for you.
  3. Right-click on Desktop click Properties select screensavers Select one click settings click the preview button to check it out click Apply click o.k. That should do it. Be aware that although screensavers look cute, they are constantly running in the background, along with other programs, and slow down your computer. I have mine set to none.
