Is there a way to transfer themes and screensavers from my friends windows 98 computer to my XP?

1. Maybe... It would be easier to just reinstall the products // images, yes?
2. I don't believe that the Windows 98 themes/screensavers would be compatible with the Windows XP OS. However, you can find all kinds of themes and screensavers (often times for free) for Win XP on the internet. Check the links.
3. Screen saver files r store in windows or windows/system32 directory with extension .scr. so u can try this way.... copy the screen saver files that is the files with extension name .scr from ur frind's comp and paste them in windows/system32 directory of ur comp. I think it will work. generally theme can't be transferred bcoz it has to be installed to in ur comp.But if u get a theme file with the extension .Theme then u can simply copy and paste anywhere in ur comp and can set as ur current theme browsing from desktop-->properties(by rclick on desktop)then click on theme tab then from theme drop down box choose brows and set it.
