How do you apply screensavers on Windows XP?
If it's not one of the ones that came on the computer, how do you select a new one saved somewhere else on the computer? Thanks.

- It should have an extension of scr. Copy it to the Windows directory C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32. At that point it should show up when you drop down your list of available screen savers.
- Find them and save them to the folder where the ones cames with the computer are at. They should automatically show up then and you can choose them that way. To search for them do a *.scr search should find them.
- right click on ur desktop and select Properties. then go to screen saver and u should be able to change it...
- You must place the screensaver file into c:\windows\ in order to use the screen saver. After placing it there its basicly "installed" and will be accessible from the screen saver panel. (Right click your desktop hit properties and click screen saver.) Hope this helps!
- Right click on your desktop and select properties from the drop down menu. Select the screensave tab and choose the screensaver you want from there. Once you have selected the screesaver click "ok" Hope this helps
- Usually when you download screen savers, they come with an exe file for installation. Once installed, the display>screen saver window will auto pop up, giving you the option to use your new screen saver. If you created the screen saver you are trying to use or the download did not come with an installation option, just copy it to the My Computer>Local C (Drive C)>Windows directory. It should now be registered as a usable screen saver. Go back to your desktop, right-click>properties>screen savers, and scroll down for the screen saver you just installed. It should be there. If not, the file is not a screen saver at all
- you open the picture that you want as your background and then right-click and then click on SET AS BACKGROUND. youre all set.
