- Hi. This will get you started. http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&sourceid=deskbar&q=screensavers
- Try: www.freeze.com www.screensavers.com However, you need to subscribe to both sites and pay a subscription fee if you want the premium, ie. ad-free, screensavers. You can download plenty of free screensavers from them, but they will contain adverts, or some of them insist you download a toolbar or something before you can get the free screensaver. It's a pain, but freebie screensavers are a bit naff - the Freeze screensavers are great, but I eventually subscribed so I could download the ad-free versions.

- I get some from magentic they`re not bad.
- Beware of any "free" screensavers that you download. The free versions of freeze.com and screensavers.com have spyware attached with the apllications to track you. (They have to pay for the software somehow so they sell the data they aquire from their users to advertisers.) I am uncertain as to if the "premium" versions are spyware free or if you upgrade to the "premium" version if it removes the spyware associcated with the "free" version. Anything "free" will almost always have some price associated with it. There are very few exceptions to this rule and I offer you two of them here: http://www.safer-networking.org/en/mirrors/index.html - This is for Spybot Search & Destroy. They DO NOT have a version that you can buy. They DO accept donations but this is NOT REQUIRED to get the latest versions, support or defintions. This is an excellent company with a great product, worthy of a donation in the amount you choose to donate, but a donation is not required. http://www.lavasoft.com/single/trialpay.php - This is for AdAware. They have a free version that works just fine. They also have a Plus version that you can buy for a nominal fee and this will give you full time protection against spyware/malware. Both of these products are available for free and both work well in conjunction with each other. They both have to be manually updated and ran to look for potential threats so they do not keep out spyware/malware but do allow you to scan for and remove any infestations they may find. AdAware Plus DOES run active in the background and thus will help prevent your computer from becoming infestated with spyware/malware. While this answer does not give you any help getting free screensavers, it will help to keep your "free" screensavers from making your computer unusable.
- There are loads of places but i just don't trust anything that comes up in a pop-up.
- hi there be careful were you download any screensavers.as screensavers are one of the most common cause of viruses on windows this is because of the format they are in("scr"),and in older versions of windows , the native screensaver format had the potential to install a virus when run (as a screen saver was just an ordinary application with a different extension). When any file with the file suffix ".scr" was opened, for example from an e-mail attachment, Windows would execute the .scr (screensaver) file automatically — this had the potential to allow a virus or malware to install itself. Modern versions of Windows can read tags left by applications such as Internet Explorer and verify the publisher of the file, presenting a confirmation to the user. However, not all applications place this tag including Firefox. a safe place to download screensavers is from http://www.download.com/Screensavers/2001-2257_4-0.html?tag=dir good luck mate !
