Why do opengl and linux screensavers lag terribly on my pc?

I have the drivers but my xfx geforce fx 5500 and ubuntu screensavers and pclinuxos2007 screensavers lag horribly but windows screensavers play normally. Whats goin on? If you read it carefully I just said I have the drivers installed. Nice eyes.
