Why do opengl and linux screensavers lag terribly on my pc?

I have the drivers but my xfx geforce fx 5500 and ubuntu screensavers and pclinuxos2007 screensavers lag horribly but windows screensavers play normally. Whats goin on? Yeah when I installed ubuntu it automatically detected it and installed it.

1. who told you to switch to linux? :P anyways, are you sure you have the latest ones? I have the same card as you but I dont have linux so i cant help you with experience. or maybe they jsut dont make the driver support for linux yet.
2. Make sure that you've enabled restricted drivers in Ubuntu, the default nv driver doesn't have hardware acceleration, but the nvidia driver does.
