vga graphics driver and video adapter whats wrong with them ?

ok so i carnt play any cd's on my media player it tells me it has encounted a problem so i went to my device manager looked in there but on the standard vga graphics adapter it has a triangle with an ! mark whats that mean i have tried to update it and download the drivers but get this message the THE BEST DRIVER IS ALREADY INSTALLED WINDOWS HAS DETERMINED THE DRIVER SOFTWARE IS UPTO DATE STANDARD VGA GRAPHICS ADAPTER also i have the same yellow triangle with the ! mark on the video controller but get this message whaen i update driver software and the driver WINDOWS WAS UNABLE TO INSTALL YOUR VIDEO CONTROLLER WINDOWS COULD NOT FIND THE SOFTWARE so what do this mean i carnt even preview my screensavers i also get this message THE SCREEN SAVER CANT RUN BECAUSE IT REQUIRES A NEWER VIDEO CARD OR ONE THATS COMPATABLE WITH DIRECT 3D i have downloaded direct 3d so why the problems im getting i had windows xp but updated to window vista home basic but did tell me half way through instalation it said windows might not work properly as it needs to be connected to the internet to download the drivers so could this be the problem shall i reinstall the vista but use the landline cable to connect me to internet as i have tmob web and walk usb internet please help as i dont know how to fix this its seriousley doing my head in i need to play my music how can i fix this best answer 10 points very sorry if this question is too long

1. First you have to uninstall the driver.. Run control panel and find add remove program.. if you could not find any related software, just go to device manager and delete the ! mark all of them. after you do this reboot and CANCEL all find new device. Run ccleaner if you have. If you don't just run the installer driver.. dont click on find new software. reboot and finish.
