What do I do: my screensaver freezes then my computer freezes?

I use 3d text to show time on my screensaver, but then when idle for too long, it doesn't get rid of it. Just keeps loading. I have to turn of the computer manually. I don't know what to do. Its Windows Vista, 32-bit, lenovo laptop...

1. REMOVE THE HARD DRIVE That happened to me and I lost all my photos, data, etc. If you keep turning it on and off, it will eventually delete all of the important files that are needed to turn on the computer. - I also lost all 2000 of my iTunes songs. What a waste of money!
