Hi. Why is my computer starting to run slow & how can I fix it?

my computer is getting very slow and i keep getting pop-ups that says my computer is affected. About 2 weeks ago i downloaded 2 things which i hardly ever do. the first was something from myspace, the second was some fish screensavers. now my computer is slower each time i turn it back on. my b-friend keep getting hundreds of email spam too. Oh, i uninstalled the two i downloaded but it hasn't helped. what should i do b/4 having no choice to send it off? thanx no pathetic answers! mature only!

4. Run all of your security programs. Run a search of fall files of the programs you downloaded and delte them. Next run a hard drive clean up of drive C. Defrag drive C.
