Screen Savers Depot

Where did my themes go?

I have windows xp media center edition and it came with all the extra windows themes, space, aquarium, etc. Anyway I opened my properties and was gonna change my account and they are gone from the list. My screen saver still works, and my recyle bin is still with the theme, but the rest is gone and I can't get the sound to work on my screensavers. What happened? How do I fix it? I tried that, and it's still not working, I'm so confused, should I restart after? I restarted and they still aren't showing up. I know they are there somewhere, because I still have the screensavers, they are active on my computer, but when I go into change it, it shows up as none. But it's there, it the nature one. and my husband has the fish one on his account and it says none too. SOOO CONFUSED! All I have managed to do was make other things disappear, now my games and calculator are gone...

  1. Themes in Windows XP are stored in \WINDOWS\Resources\Themes If you removed it accidentally, you can reinstall (if you have the CD), but in most cases it's preinstalled. Reinstall Themes by: Start>Control Panel> Add/Remov Windows Components (in the left pane).. Windows Components Wizard will pop> Drag scroll bar down and click "Windows Digital Media Enhancements" click [Details..] button, then click Themes.. === Try searching the path where your themes are stored. Use the find utility of windows and type *.themes (in the "All or part of the filename" text box). After knowing whhere your themes are stored, try to change your theme, but this time, go to "Browse..." at the bottom most, and then go to the folder where your themes are.
