From where do the stores get aquarium fish?

I want to know where those colorful aquarium fish live. Freshwater lakes? Where do they find them?

1. fish farms in asia, LA, and florida.
2. They usually get them from Florida. They breed them in these giant outside, covered ponds. Just google image a few and you will be amazed at the large scale of these places. They have to keep up with all those people killing their fish in their one gallon bowls......
3. Mosst come from either fish farms in thialand or from the wild. They live in random places in the wild, some in the amzon, others in rice patty feilds!
4. Most of the fish you see in stores are farmed with the exception of those that don't breed in captivity. Wild caught fish are expensive so for costs reasons all the colorful tropical fish are commercially raised in farms that are in warm places like florida and than shipped in to the local fish store.
