Whats the difference between themes, desktop & screensavers? I'm trying to set my screen but I don't know the difference between themes, desktop and screensavers

something happened to my desktop and screensavers in macbook? something happened to my desktop and screensavers in my macbook when i go to system preferneces they are gone and when i see desktop preferences the icon the words are misspell and wheni click it nothin is there just a blank what is happening what can i do or? instead of saying desktop and screensaver it says the icon looks like the one system and preferences and its not spell right. i found a document in my DesktopScreenEffectsPref.prefPane that one it to open in system preferences but nothign happens?

How to remove unwanted pics from my desktop background and screensavers files on this pc? I have some unwanted photos that when I saved to my pics etc it went onto my desktop backgound and also on my screensavers slide show and do not want them there only in my pics file! A guy at Circuit CIty once used some small USB device perhaps to try to install another screensaver from another computer because the one that was on my laptop, that I returned, was not working... I do not know how he did it and if there is an easier way to do it - such as emailing the files to my desktop and downloading them or copying them somehow to a disc onto the desktop. Can someone pls tell me how to do this - where they are (screensavers and all desktop backgrounds) I know I can browse to find desktop backgrounds but I really would like to install them onto my desktop so I can see them in the list of screensavers and backgrounds when you right click on the desktop, go to properties - where you normally would choose these things from. How can I download desktop themes not backgrands (screensavers)? Its the theme of the taskbar icons and everything that is in the desktop and everything that is in the start menu.
