Download Windows Vista sound pack, screensavers, wallpapers etc. for FREE? Because of my low system specifications, I asked my friend on how to experience Windows Vista in just 512MB of RAM. He advised me to install a lite edition of Vista, which he provided me a CD with. The installation is successful, and the system generally ran fast, it's like I'm running on 2GB of RAM. Going back to the topic, from the word itself, "LITE", some screensavers, sound packs (including start sound and log-off sound), wallpaper, cursors, etc. are deleted. I checked my left space in my hard drive and I could say it's in the safe level to add these perks regarding Windows Vista. My question is, where can I download this stuff for FREE, and how or where in my PC should I paste/put it? I am currently running Windows Vista Home Premium x32. Does anyone know of a free program to make screensavers for win xp? I used a program about a year ago and i cant remember the name or find it. It didnt seem like a newly released program, But it did just what i wanted. Basically you can just replace the default image file with an image of your choice by simply adding the pic file into the program's folder. Then the image would bounce around the screen like in the windows xp default screensaver. If anyone knows what this program is called, or if you know of a similar program that is free, let me know. Installing Windows XP SP2 on SATA Hard drives? Hello there.... I have a windows xp SP2 already installed in my computer, but the problem is my PC has gotten too buggy! It has slowed down(it takes 10 minutes before it can load my desktop), my Internet Explorer always get crashed(freezes) and i recieve lots of error after start-up and before shutting down. I know its all my mistake beacuse I installed those damn free 'cool' screensavers on the net, love to use the ctrl+alt+del func even some programs are running or shutting the system down(a proper shut down) even i have some opened programs and forcefully ending them now. No viruses, adware or spyware found after running antiviruse programssss so i decided to 4mat 8 & reinstall XP. Now i am hving a problem in installing XP on my hard drive(Seagate Barracuda 120GB). I can't instal beacuse during installation, the setup cannot detect any hard drives. even during CMOS setup(where sreen turns blue), it shows no hardrives found. But wen I log-in in my buggy system, it runs. why is that? I unstalled those free screen savers before running the scanning. but no detections. This is annoys me. Anyway, for more info about my system: Procsessor - Intel 2800 Mhz Hard drive - Seagate Barracuda 120 GB RAM - 1024 MB Video Card - Tornado GeForce FX 5500; 256mb(128bit) Mother Board - Asus P4 V800D-X How can i install XP SP2? How can I get rid of the remnants of the Antivir Virus and possible Adware? I am a college student and recently bought a used Dell Precision M60 laptop with Windows XP Professional. I was waiting to install Norton Antivirus until I went home to get my dad's copy of it, but only a few days after I bought the computer, it became infected with the the Antivir virus. Everytime I tried to go to a new website, a page would come up, warning me that the website might contain a virus and that I should buy protection from Antivir. Once, my laptop screen turned blue, and it said that it had been infected with a trojan. The name of it was "Monster", with several letters and numbers behind it. The warning also said my computer was performing a "file dump," and then my computer shut down. It scared me at first, but I soon realized that there was no trojan and that it was still just Antivir. I ran malware megabytes and it found and removed several files infected with antivir. When I used the internet again. it was better, but everytime I use a search engine, and clicked on one of the results, my computer is redirected to another search engine or an advertisement. I have to type the url directly into the address bar for it to work. Other random pop-ups with advertisements also come up often. For instance, when I was in the middle of writing a letter on hotmail, an ad came up for virus protection. A few times since I have run Malwarebytes, my computer gives me the message that my computer has to restart because the D Com server process launcher service was terminated unexpectedly. After that, another message pops up saying that windows closed a program (the Generic Host Process) to protect my computer. Then my computer restarts. This seems similar to the time when my computer shut down with the fake trojan message. I don't know if my laptop is still infected with remnants of Antivir, or if antivir is completely gone and my laptop just shuts down and goes to other websites because something is still messed up in the computer's system. I think that it might also be infected with adware. I went to a website for free screensavers--i think it was screensavers.com. When I went to the website, it said that something was downloading to my computer. I immediately left the website and looked up information about it on the MacAfee site advisor site. The website said, "In our tests, we found downloads on this site that some people consider adware, spyware or other potentially unwanted programs." I ran malware megabytes again, and it found 1 file for adware. Yuck! So, I researched and installed AVG the antivirus protection program within a day after I ran Malware megabytes. When I went to the google website and clicked on one of the search results, AVG blocked the page and gave a warning that malware was detected. I did a scan with AVG, and it didn't find anything so I don't get the messages anymore. I tried to go online yesturday and an advertisment for Clear internet service came up, instead of my homepage. I could not use any other website. I was able to get online today, but my computer server is still directed to other servers when I try to use search engines. I know one thing I will never go without antivirus protection again, that is for sure! What can I do to fix my computer and remove the possible remnants of Adware and Antivir? Thank you very much!

How do I get rid of these virus files!? Ok, so I was using the computer, then windows Internet explorer closed, then automatically, this computer scan started, and they have found virus files (I think more than 60!) that were VERY innapropriate, under threat files were these titles, Trojan download, backdoor, and it even said child porn! I SWEAR that I haven't seen any of this, or clicked or seen any of these things before (I'm only 11!).But they're only in my computer account, not in my mom's, dad's, or brother's. And I think they came from this website that I use. And this computer is new, and the only thing I used on it so far, is use the website to watch Death Note (an anime series) that I really like, and I have been getting pop-ups too, but only those that say free screensavers, I won a free laptop or something like that, and of course I always close those. My mom installed antivirus, but she says that she can't delete the virus files.Please can someone help me?! :(

Using a netbook as a digital picture frame - best photo screensaver/slideshow to use? I have a small laptop that I only need occassionally when I travel. Would like to get some more value out of it by using it as a digital picture frame when I'm in the office. However, the Google Picassa and Windows 7 photo screensavers rotate pictures way too fast. I'd like the picture to change once every 15+ minutes or so. Does anyone know a good, free, and lightweight application that does this? Computer Wizards...PLEASE help!? I recently had to reinstall windows vista to my Toshiba Satellite A215-S4747 and now my screen resolution is HUGE and my screensavers won't work because the video card is not compatible. How do I download a new video card? I've checked Toshiba several times, and I've found nothing. I have an extended warranty w/ best buy, should I just let them fix it for free? Do you have a unique screensaver? I don't like screensavers with rotating pictures or with a floating design. I like to be able to see my desktop and anything on it and just have something appear in front of it. I have a few examples underneath with links to better explain what I mean. I use the free fire screensaver ( http://www.laconicsoftware.com/free-fire-screensaver.php ). It just makes everything on the screen look like its on fire. I've also used and Icy Christmas screensaver ( http://www.elasticsystems.com/screensavers/icy-christmas-screensaver/index.htm ), which makes it look like the screen is slowly freezing. Logging Off Overnight? I have Vista Home Premium, but instead of putting my computer to sleep overnight (I can't stand the blinking light), I will either shut it down altogether or simply log off of Windows and let it stay on the login screen. I had a couple of concerns about this: 1. When you completely log off of Vista, does any part of the OS continue to run, or are most of the resources that are used freed up after you've logged off? In other words, are the majority of the processes being run turned off after you log off? I assume that all internet/network connections shut off, because everytime I log in, I can see in the system tray that the network icon is not connected to the internet until a few seconds later. 2. Is there any way to disable the default Vista screensaver that comes on automatically after 10 min. of inactivity at the login screen? Disabling/changing screensavers must be done from the desktop, but obviously if you're not logged in as any user ... then you can't access those options from the login screen interface.
