Not a betta, because I already have three, one of which lives in it's own 5 gallon and the other two live in two of my mom's community tanks (one in each, they have free range, none of that betta box nonsense for me) I am wanting something different now, and I will NOT put goldfish in it, so don't even suggest it, I will give you a thumbs down because it is cruel to keep a goldfish in anything less than 10 gallons, more is better, I havee two commons in a 29 gallon and if my mom gets tired of her 55 gallon, they'll move into it. TRhey were pond fish, but someone (cont.) poured pesticide into my uncle's pond and killed them (they were 'killing the mosquito larvae and tadpoles') We called the police, but they denied it and we couldn't prove it was them but they told US they did it. So anyway, Nemo and Marlin somehow survived (about 12 other goldies and 3 koi bit it, though)and were about an inch long when I got them and now they are healthy happy lads of about 3 inches or so. I love them a lot, even though nemo is a bit of a bully, but he kind of acts like he wants to breed with Marlin(swimming along side him and some chasing, but no fin biting), but they are still young and don't have any tubercles (or whatever they are called) So I don't know if they are Nemo and Marlin or Nemette and Marleen, or a combo.

What can make the white part disappear from an aquarium fish's eyes? I got an aquarium fish a couple weeks ago and noticed when I got it home that it had no white in either of its eyes. My aquarium fish look like they are starving? My one aquarium of platies (also called moons) are dieing and I don't know what it is from. I get them and they are healthy looking with no normal signs of being sick or stressed. They have the rounded bellies (like platies have), but after a couple weeks their bellies get flat looking and when I see that, they die within a day or two. I have had fish and aquariums for years, but have never seen this. I have done several treatments of binox (broad spectrum for illness) and also had done several treatments for external and internal parasites. But they contiue to look like they are just waisting away. I feed them good quality flake food, vegetable base foods, frozen brine shrimp, frozen blood worms, and frozen tubafex worms. Also put in fresh veggies for them to eat. I give them a well varied seletion of foods. My ph and ammonia levels are fine,as is all the other levels for a good healthy aquarium. Anyone have any idea what is happening? How to stop it?

How can I reduce the odor of my fish aquarium? I have a 20 gallon freshwater aquarium. The odor seems stronger then normal. I have had fish tanks in the past and they have not smelled as bad. You do not change an established aquarium water EVERY WEEK!!! This is not who told me this this is the reality. Is it wrong to feed my aquarium fish fry (xipho) only spirulina algae? I've red that Spirulina is very good for all fish because it makes them stronger and more resistant to possible diseases. I've noticed that they eat it and enjoy it quite well, and they grow very fast. Is it ok to feed them just that until tey are big enough for puting them along with my other fish? BioGeek I forgot to mention that I give them spirulina tablets for people, not those made especially for fish. I grind them (using 2 spoons) into a fine powder.

How do i make my aquarium fish (guppies) mate? Hi folks, i got a couple guppies and 2 mollies. Mollies are good at mating, they make out everyday!
